JRQ is hiring for the year 2012-2013! The following positions are available:

Communications Director

Sending out emails to our members to keep them informed of upcoming events/ updates
Maintaining club Facebook page

Resources Director

Making an inventory of current JRQ resources
Provide a storage space for JRQ equipment

Frosh Reps (3)

Promoting JRQ and our events to the first year population
Putting up posters in residence and dining halls

* Please note: You do NOT need all of the requirements listed above. All we ask is that you are motivated and enthusiastic about learning new skills!

Applications are due Monday, October 1 and interviews will be held Tuesday, October 2 and Wednesday, October 3.

Welcome Back Picnic is here again!! Come out and visit your old friends at JRQ while munching on delicious onigiri (Japanese rice balls) and sipping on soul-warming miso soup! Join us for a riveting game of suikawari (Watermelon smashing game) and of course, in the eating of the watermelon afterwards. (limited supply of watermelon)

JRQ is hiring for 2012-2013

Hey everyone,

JRQ is hiring for the year 2012-2013! The following positions are available:

Art/Technology Director

Design JRQ clothing, create posters and tickets for events
Maintain JRQ blog, update banners and information boards
Have thorough knowledge and experience with blog design, Photoshop, HTML
Basic knowledge in audio-visual equipment for events

Cultural Director

Organize conversation classes (be in contact with Japanese classes and School of English students)
Responsible for cultural games during events
Knowledge of Japanese culture

External Relations Officer

Keep up to date with similar clubs, know when they are having events
Be a liaison between the clubs and coordinate potential joint events
Responsible for communicating to JRQ members about upcoming events and update through email, etc.

Logistics

Booking event and weekly meeting locations
Maintain communication with QUIC

Promotional Director

Create Facebook pages for upcoming events
Print and put up posters around campus
Create ideas for promoting the club

** However, the Art/Technology Director MUST have some knowledge of coding and Photoshop.

[NEW EVENT] SUSHI NIGHT

March 11: Sushi Night
Location: QUIC (Queen's University International Center, in the JDUC)
Time: 7:30 - 9:00 pm
Price: $10 for members, $12 for non-members

Our FINAL sushi night of the year is here! Come out for an enjoyable, social evening with tons of food. On the menu are california rolls, spicy salmon rolls, salmon sushi, cucumber sushi, and MORE! Also being served are miso soup and ice cream for dessert!

Ticket sales will be held from 11:30 to 15:30 at the following locations:
Tuesday, March 6: ARC
Wednesday, March 7: JDUC
Thursday, March 8: JDUC
Friday, March 9: Mac-Corry

January 29: Udon Lunch
Location: QUIC in JDUC
Time: 12:30 - 3:00 pm
Price: $6 for members, $8 for non-members, $3 for additional bowls (paid at the event)

An interactive udon experience, choose your own broth, vegetables, meat, and other toppings. Make it yourself, lots of different combinations available!

Ticket sales will be held in the ARC (Queen's Centre)
